Melody's Musings

Stuff that catches my fancy and random, sorted thoughts from the inner scrambles of my mind.

What you may expect to find here are what I consider good taste and some of the best in photography, philosophy, humor, art, architecture, food, music, poetry, literature and dance. I hope you like some of the things I enjoy.

I like anything to do with good design such as interior design, architecture, photography, and art. I enjoy philosophy and psychology. I love to figure out what makes individuals tick. Music of most all types but particularly classical, world, pop, acoustic guitar is a big part of my life and add some dance to the music and my day is great! I like to write and occasionally I will write poetry and I really love to read it out loud and I even record it sometimes.

I'm a Myers-Briggs type ENFJ which means I love people and have a great interest in them.

I guess you could say I'm a humanities kind of person. :)

    Froodles

Description
Who doesn’t like making up names for raw recipes? I sure enjoy it … almost as much as I like fruit noodles. Froodles were inevitable.

Recipe by
Lisa Viger

Ingredients
1 papaya ($1.29) 1 mango ($.88)1 cucumber ($.31)1 medium onion ($.10)1 avocado ($.88)crushed pepper flakespapaya seeds

Methods/steps
Peel and then shave, grate or cut the papaya, mango and cucumber into small, noodle like strips and arrange on plates (this is how I cut my noodles). Sprinkle on some finely diced onion , chopped avocado, crushed pepper flakes, and papaya seeds (they have a slightly peppery taste). Then, whisk together the lime juice, olive oil, agave, salt, and cayenne until emulsified. Spoon over the fruit noodles.

Mischer’traxler’s ‘Reversed Volumes’ Bowls are Cast From Fruits and Vegetables

So far Mischer’traxler has made bowls using cauliflower, celeriac, cabbage, a melon, a red beet, fennel, a green apple, a yellow pepper, an orange, and coffee grains.

Mischer’traxler’s Reversed Volumes are made using a homemade mold and ceramic powder, which sets without the need for an oven. The line was initially developed for FoodMarketo, a pop-up shop organized by DesignMarketo, Apartamento Magazine and Marion Friedmann during Milan Design Week 2010.

Make your own vitamin water. Add fruits instead of sugar for a natural sweetener for your H20. Cut the fruit into paper-thin slices or small chunks. Combine ingredients with water. Refrigerate 4-6 hours and serve over ice. So delicious and very refreshing!

Pineapples are wonderful fruit. Not only are they delicious, but they are also very easy to grow. All you really need to start growing your own pineapple farm is a pineapple and some dirt (and a pot if you live in a colder climate). For instructions, click here:  http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Grow-Pineapples/
